Designing for a New Chapter in Life
KIND Kitchens recently had the pleasure of designing, manufacturing, and building a custom kitchen for a pair of empty nesters who had downsized to a serene townhouse by the ocean. With a narrow footprint but abundant natural light, the challenge was to create a kitchen that felt open and minimal, yet delivered clever, hardworking storage solutions.
Working closely with the clients through several design iterations and collaborating through a series of meetings to ensure every detail was considered, KIND delivered a kitchen that not only met their needs but elevated their lifestyle. Much of this success was made possible by the hardware and fittings supplied by Wilson & Bradley (wilbrad.com.au), a trusted partner whose products continue to set the benchmark for quality and innovation.

Smart Hardware, Smarter Kitchens
From the outset, storage efficiency was a top priority. Wilson & Bradley’s hardware made it possible to maximise every centimetre. A pull-out pantry next to the cooktop provides quick access to everyday items, while wide, custom-built drawers paired with inner drawer systems give everything a designated place: the cutlery, plates, cups, tea towels, and even daily vitamins.
The corner cabinet, fitted with a kidney pull-out unit, ensures that everyday prep items are always within easy reach. Wilson & Bradley’s range is built to support considered design decisions, giving KIND designers the tools to create kitchens that are intelligent, organised, and efficient.
Beyond their product quality, Wilson & Bradley’s ease of service and comprehensive offering streamline the design and build process for KIND. With reliable lead times and a wide catalogue of contemporary solutions, the collaboration allows the team to focus on crafting bespoke designs, knowing the hardware will deliver both performance and longevity for clients.
More Than a Kitchen, It’s a Social Space
The island in this project reflects that synergy. Designed as both a prep space and a social hub, the back cabinetry doubles as a sleek bar, organised with storage for drinks and glassware. A pantry unit in the laundry space nearby adds even more duality. Functioning as a dry goods pantry on one side and a home for cleaning appliances on the other, it features deep drawers that keep everything neatly organised.
Visually, the kitchen strikes the right balance between minimalism and refinement. High-gloss 2PAC cabinetry reflects the natural light, while a stone benchtop with Calacatta-inspired veining adds subtle elegance. The mirrored splashback amplifies light and creates the illusion of a larger space—an intentional design choice that pairs perfectly with the uncluttered layout.

A Partnership That Delivers Beyond Design
Ultimately, this project showcases how the right partnerships translate into exceptional outcomes. With the support of Wilson & Bradley’s innovative range, KIND was able to deliver a kitchen that strikes a perfect balance between storage efficiency, function, and visual harmony.
